Heavy rain in Nagai and Tiruvarur dists

Trichy: Cyclone ravaged districts Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Pudukottai districts have been receiving heavy rain since Tuesday morning, which has affected the ongoing relief work by the government.The IMD had already predicted that Karaikal, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur and Perambalur will see heavy rains. Thanjavur, Neivasal Thenpathi, Orathanadu, Eachanviduthi and Pattukottai also received heavy rain. 262mm rain was recorded across the district.In Tiruvarur, Valangaiman registered a maximum of 47mm, followed by Tiruvarur-37.4mm, Nannilam-30.2mm and both Thiruthuraipoondi and Mannargudi recording 17mm.Tharangambadi in Nagapattinam district registered a maximum of 58.5mm while Thirupoondi and Kollidam recorded 42mm each. Sirkazhi recorded 32.6mm and Nagapattinam 20.5 mm. The report also elaborated that it will turn into heavy spell from Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and go up to November 23.A maximum of 40mm rain was recorded in Lower Anaicut in Thanjavur district followed by 27mm in Ayyampettai and 25mm in Kumbakonam on Tuesday.
