Trichy: A three-day international summit of Tamil entrepreneurs will be held in Madurai from December 28 to promote entrepreneurship and create more jobs in Tamil Nadu.Around 500 entrepreneurs are expected to attend the summit organised by The Rise movement. It is touted to serve as a link between potential investors and youngsters to generate job opportunities.Addressing the reporters at a press meet here on Friday, retired IAS officer G Balachandran, co-chairman of The Rise, said, “Aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs can get a chance to meet and interact with the successful entrepreneurs in their respective domain. The summit will serve as a catalyst in reviving the centuries-old glory of ancient Tamils known for the expertise in trade and commerce.”Entrepreneurs from Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Canada and 17 other countries will attend the event. They will share business opportunities in their respective country with budding entrepreneurs in the state.“Sector-wise debates have been scheduled in the summit. They include opportunities for startups in agriculture, tourism and others. The theme of the summit is ‘To shift the culture of seeking jobs to creating jobs,” said The Rise director Jegath Gaspar Raj. The summit will be held at The Pillar Centre in Nagamalai Puthukottai near Madurai from December 28 to 30. Interested people can visit www.therise.global portal to register for the summit.
