Trichy: Severe fog conditions in Chennai and Bengaluru on Monday morning resulted in the delay of arrival of flights at the Trichy International Airport.Following the delay, passengers who were waiting to board these flights in their return trips were stranded after operations were suspended between 6.25am and 7am and between 11.50am and 2pm.According to airport sources, the Chennai-bound IndiGo flight which should have arrived at 6.25am landed at 7am with a 35-minute delay. Similarly, the incoming IndiGo flight from Bengaluru supposed to arrive at 11.50am landed at 2pm, a delay of 2 hours10 minutes. The flights then departed from here after a halt of about 30 minutes, airport sources said.When contacted, officials from the meteorological department said that though there was no poor visibility in the Trichy International Airport severe fog in Chennai and Bengaluru might be the reason for the delay. Operations of few other flights were also disrupted due to the same reason. TNN
