DMK blames arrest of functionary on police indifference

Trichy: The secretary of DMK’s IT wing, P T R Palanivel Thiagarajan, has blamed police indifference for the arrest of the party’s functionary in Karur for sharing a series of videos showing morphed faces of the chief minister and transport minister.DMK’s IT wing coordinator of Aravakurichi constituency R Loganathan was arrested by Chinnadharapuram police on Wednesday and booked under four sections of IPC for his facebook posts. “Common citizens, activists, members and cadres of the opposition parties are subject to police action but people from the ruling party enjoy immunity to any extent of vulgarity or abuse” he said in a statement.Charging the police with lack of even-handed approach which only indicated the vindictive nature of the state government, he blamed the media for not highlighting the alleged expose on the murder-robbery at Jayalalithaa’s mountain retreat at Kodanad in the Nilgiris.
