Python rescued in Trichy

TRICHY: Forest department personnel rescued a seven-foot-long python that was caught in a fishing net in the Olaiyur tank near Trichy on Monday. Later, they released the python into a reserve forest area near Manapparai.A group of youngsters who were fishing in the tank saw the snake in their net and alerted the forest department. A team of forest personnel rushed to the area and rescued the snake.“As the mercury level is slowly rising, the python may have come to the tank from somewhere for water and prey,” said a forest official.
