Rs 10 cr worth cheques, promissory notes seized

The cheques were found without mentioning the payee.As they did not have any valid supportive documents, the flying squad officials seized handed them over to Srirangam thasildar Kanagamanickam. Trichy: Flying squad officials in Trichy have recovered 192 signed cheques having value of Rs 8.76 crore and two promissory notes worth Rs 1.20 crore from a vehicle (TN 10 AR 8888) at Thirupparaithurai tollgate, which comes under Srirangam assembly constituency, on Thursday.According to officials, the flying squad, headed by special tahsildar M Sumathi intercepted the car coming from Tuticorin. The occupants of the vehicle identified as P Kannan, 29, R Mani, 28, and M Petchimuthu, 20. During enquiry, the three men stated that they were running a finance company.
