Trichy: The city police registered two cases against 10 people, including functionaries and cadres of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) for violating the model code of conduct (MCC) by taking out unauthorized procession and bursting crackers on Wednesday night.The Cantonment police registered the case against district president of the SDPI Hasan, 30, of Palakkarai in Trichy and eight others for coming in a procession by holding party flags near St Vestry school roundabout on Wednesday night to welcome AMMK deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran.Dhinakaran had visited Trichy to inaugurate the headquarters office for Trichy parliamentary constituency for AMMK candidate Sarubala Thondaiman.Police said that they had not taken permission from the election department for their procession.
