Welcoming Kalairajan to the party, Stalin hinted that several members of other parties might join the DMK soon.Kalairajan called on Stalin at a private hotel in Trichy in the morning and formally inducted himself into the party. Kalairajan was the South Chennai district secretary of the AMMK.“I realized that there is a threat to the development of Tamil people and Dravidian movement. My beloved leader Thalapathi (Stalin) is the right person to keep Dravidian movement intact and regain the lost rights of Tamils. I accept him as my leader and I am at his disposal. So I induct myself into the DMK,” said Kalairajan.Kalairajan maintained that he did not leave the AMMK due to any dispute with party deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran. “I have no differences with him. I joined the DMK purely because I accepted Stalin as my leader,” he said.Stalin said people from other parties would join the DMK with the hope that only the party could bring about a change in the helm of affairs at the Centre and in the state. “Kalairajan is not a new face in the DMK. He was here in the students’ wing. He will resume his work by joining the DMK again,” Stalin said.On the fight given by the AIADMK and AMMK, he said, “We don’t consider anyone as a challenge. Our problems and challenges are to dethrone the fascist central government and submissive state government.” Kalairajan also said that DMK will soon see members from other parties join the party. However, he refused to be specific about the parties from which cadres and functionaries will break away.
