OPS seeks vote for AIADMK’s struggle for livelihood issues

Trichy: Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam urged people to vote for his party saying it has addressed issues concerning the livelihood of people of Tamil Nadu.Canvassing for Karur party candidate M Thambidurai in Viralimalai on Friday, Panneerselvam recalled the Union government’s notifying in gazette, the final award of Cauvery water dispute tribunal (CWDT) in 2013. He said Centre was indeed instrumental in addressing livelihood issues of the people of Tamil Nadu.He trained guns on arch rival DMK by saying that it did nothing when sharing power at the Centre from 2007-2011. “It (DMK) did nothing to find solution to the Cauvery water dispute with Karnataka. Following this, the Centre was forced to oblige, said Paneerselvam.He accused DMK of failing to bring any beneficial schemes to the state when DMK was part of the ruling united progressive alliance (UPA) led by Congress and now resort to false propaganda to malign chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.“AIADMK is the only party to be in power for over 22 years in Tamil Nadu. It is a cadre-based party giving equal opportunities where party workers can raise to the level of chief minister,” he said.People should vote after analysing parties on beneficial schemes implemented by them OPS said, adding that AIADMK has forged alliance with parties that have sole motive of public welfare.“DMK leader MK Stalin thinks that he can win over people by drinking tea in roadside tea stalls. But let me remind him that I myself have run tea stalls. DMK will disappear in general elections 2019,” OPS said.
