    Thanjavur: Fourteen idols and seven pedestals were found while digging up the earth for constructing a temple at Pazhanjur village near Athirampattinam in Thanjavur district on Saturday.On being informed, revenue officials took possession of the idols and are studying them with the help of archaeological department to ascertain the actual period of the idols.The temple authorities at Pazhanjur village had decided to construct a temple dedicated to Sri Pazhamalai Nathar in 2012 and the work was currently in progress. As part of constructing a sump to store water, both for drinking and construction purposes on the temple premises, an earth mover was pressed into service.While digging up the land on Saturday, the driver noticed an idol covered with mud.
