“Education should nurture multi-dimensional value system”

P. Thyagarajan, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Madras and Professor of Eminence & Dean (Research), Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai. The purpose of education was to draw out best of the student by stimulating the spiritual, intellectual and physical abilities of oneself, Mr. Thyagarajan said delivering the presidential address at the State-level 19th convocation of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha (Tamil Nadu), Tiruchi here. Praising the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha for its service to the nation, Prof. Thyagarajan said institutions like it had a rich tradition of imparting value based education and in shaping good citizens. Students who had successfully completed ‘Praveen’ course were awarded certificates during the convocation. A. P. C.V.
