SMS College best government medical institute in Rajasthan

In the list, SMS Medical College is at the top, SP Medical College of Bikaner is at the second place, while Medical College Kota has secured third place.Besides, Jhalawar Medical College secured fourth place, whereas SN Medical College of Jodhpur had to settle for the fifth position. JAIPUR: City’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College stood first while JLN Medical College, Ajmer secured last place in the list of government-run medical colleges. RNT Medical College of Udaipur is at the second last spot, while Ajmer’s government-run medical college was last in the list. SMS Medical College secured highest marks for facilities such as e-classrooms, e-books and journal nodes in all departments, swimming pool, gymnasium, playground and laboratory. The medical education department has issued the ranking with an aim to push the medical colleges for improving the facilities, where they are lagging behind other medical colleges of the state.The medical colleges were also assessed on research productivity, publication in national and international journals and graduation outcome performance of students.

JAIPUR: City’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College stood first while JLN Medical College, Ajmer secured last place in the list of government-run medical colleges. The list was released by medical education department and covered best facilities for students accommodating the best teaching facilities. SMS Medical College secured highest marks for facilities such as e-classrooms, e-books and journal nodes in all departments, swimming pool, gymnasium, playground and laboratory. Also, in combined performance in university examination.The sports complex on the campus houses indoor courts and zones for badminton and table-tennis besides a recreational area. Additionally, a swimming pool with a gymnasium is also there. At a time when e-books and journal nodes enhance teaching facilities, government-run medical colleges in Ajmer and Kota do not have e-books and journal nodes in all the departments. Also, the swimming pool is not well maintained in Ajmer. However, all government medical colleges have well-equipped e-classrooms.The medical colleges were assessed on different parameters including number of books in the library, availability of e-books, well equipped e-classrooms, journals expenditure per student/year as per Medical Council of India norms, well-maintained swimming poll, gymnasium and a playground.“It is for the first time when a comprehensive list of government-run medical colleges has been released with their rankings,” said a senior official of medical education department. The medical education department has issued the ranking with an aim to push the medical colleges for improving the facilities, where they are lagging behind other medical colleges of the state.The medical colleges were also assessed on research productivity, publication in national and international journals and graduation outcome performance of students.
