UDAIPUR: Armed goons allegedly gang-raped a 14-year-old girl before decamping with cash, gold and silver ornaments from two houses within Charbhuja police station limits hours past Thursday midnight in Rajsamand district . The assaulters carried sticks and rods with them and forcefully entered a farmhouse on the outskirts of Morna village.The farmhouse was taken on lease by a contractor Madan Gurjar where the labourers too lived. “The men were 6-8 in numbers who laid a sudden attack in the farmhouse where workers were sleeping. The army of men attacked the people and snatched away all the ornaments on their bodies,” additional SP, Rajsamand, Rajesh Bharadwaj told TOI. After the loot at the farmhouse, the men marched into another house situated 100 meters from the farmhouse and attacked the landlord Gopal Singh and his wife. They looted Singh’s belongings including jewellery and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash. The couple was beaten up when they tried to resist the assaulters. Meanwhile, a 14-year old girl who was the daughter of Singh’s domestic help, fell prey to the gang which raped her brutally. Another minor girl jumped off from the first floor when some of the men barged into the house and advanced towards her. The victims told the police that the goons were more than six in number.The victims were so terrified and shocked by the sudden assault that they could not do much to overpower the men. “The men decamped with valuables and escaped in the contractor’s jeep around 1.30 am. As we got the information, teams from all the surrounding police stations rushed to the spot. Victims were taken to the district hospital, none of them are serious. A case of loot and rape has been registered against unidentified men,” Bharadwaj said.FSL team and dog squad was pressed into service and samples have been taken. Cyber team and special task forces have been set off in search of the culprits. According to police, there is a lean chance of involvement of local criminals, it seems to have been committed by outsiders. The goons had come on a bike and a loading vehicle. Police have sought footage from CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas.
