Con-men dupe 20,000 from MP trader in Udaipur

The con-men, who rode on a motorcycle demanded identity proof from the trader, checked his pockets and belongings. UDAIPUR: Two youths who posed as policemen duped a Madhya Pradesh trader of twenty thousand rupees who had come to Udaipur for business purposes. While one of the men checked the bag, the other one kept questioning Patidar and later they returned the bag. He kept the money in his trousers’ pocket and was walking towards the gate when two men stopped him. When he realized he was duped, the trader went to Hiran Magri police station and lodged a complaint against the unidentified men.

UDAIPUR: Two youths who posed as policemen duped a Madhya Pradesh trader of twenty thousand rupees who had come to Udaipur for business purposes. The con-men, who rode on a motorcycle demanded identity proof from the trader, checked his pockets and belongings. They asked him to leave immediately claiming a riot has taken place in the area.Manaklal Patidar, resident of Sailana in Madhya Pradesh had gone to Savina Krishi Mandi here on Monday and collected payment of Rs 20,000 from a local trader. He kept the money in his trousers’ pocket and was walking towards the gate when two men stopped him. The con-men were on a red motorcycle and they wore Khaki jackets. They acted like policemen and questioned Patidar about his identity. They asked for his Aadhaar card, checked his pockets and found the money. The men said that a riot has broken out in the area and it was not safe to keep the money in pocket so they asked him to keep the currencies in a bag which he was carrying in his hands.Patidar who couldn’t understand their intentions believed them and kept the money inside the bag. As he was about to move, again the men stopped him and said they would like to check the bag again to see whether something else was kept in it. While one of the men checked the bag, the other one kept questioning Patidar and later they returned the bag. The trader walked some miles and when he rechecked his bag, there was no money. When he realized he was duped, the trader went to Hiran Magri police station and lodged a complaint against the unidentified men.
