Swine flu claims five more officials visit worsthit districts

Taking swift action, the health department issued directions to its officials to identify high risk swine flu patients and immediately refer them for treatment to higher centres.In rural areas, the health department has roped in ASHA and anganwadi workers for identifying suspected swine flu patients. Additionally, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) have been directed to distribute oseltamivir tablets to suspected swine flu patients in villages.Sixty-one people tested positive for swine flu, including 25 from Jaipur, on Saturday. From February 4 to February 9, the health department teams visited over 11 lakh houses. The teams found that 1.2 lakh persons were suffering from cold and cough. So far in 2019, 2,854 persons have been found infected with the disease in Rajasthan In a review meeting on swine flu on Saturday, health minister Raghu Sharma said that they have deployed additional vehicles for transporting swab samples from collection points to the laboratories for early diagnosis of the disease.Moreover, directions have again been issued to schools to spread awareness on swine flu in the morning assemblies in the worst-affected districts.During state-wide screening in past five days, the health department teams have covered over 45 lakh people. From February 4 to February 9, the health department teams visited over 11 lakh houses. The teams found that 1.2 lakh persons were suffering from cold and cough. There were 389 pregnant women and 470 people of high risk groups who were found suffering from cold and fever.The teams found 1,494 persons who were suffering from swine flu-like symptoms and they were immediately given Tamiflu tablets.
