Vadodara: A sessions court on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering a resident of Padra in 2016.The convict Jayanti Pagi, a resident of Padra, had killed Ramesh Vasava after a fight over a minor issue. They were friends but often fight often as Pagi used to demand money from the Vasava.The duo used to work together in fields and share the money but Vasava didn’t contribute much. But Vasava, who was a drunkard, used to demand money from Pagi and quarrel with him. Vasava had been assaulting Pagi for a month for money.In March 2016 when Pagi was sitting near temple, Vasava again demanded Rs 10 from him. When Pagi refused to pay, Vasava slapped him a couple of times. Vasava left the spot and went back to work in the field in Ganpatpura village.When he was cutting the grass, Vasava again came there and assaulted Pagi. An angered Pagi attacked Vasava with the sharp tool. The vicim suffered severe injuries on his face, neck and head that caused his death. Pagi then hid the tool with which he committed the murder and fled from the spot. He was later arrested by the police.
