Vadodara/Anand: A group of milk producers on Saturday staged protest by spilling nearly 1,800 litres milk on the roads at Sojitra village of Anand district after the village level milk society stopped procuring milk from them.The group of around 18 milk producers staged the protest and shouted slogans outside the village society alleging that the society office-bearers had not given them enough time before stopping milk procurement.Officials of the mandali, however, said that the society had stopped collecting milk from this 18 members after it noticed adulteration in the milk that they were supplying.Around a fortnight back, a mobile milk checking van of Amul Dairy had conducted a random checking of samples at Sojitra milk society when the quality issues came to the forth.“As per the rules, we had asked this members to give in writing that they will not continue such malpractices. But instead of adhering to the rules, the group is using pressure tactics. Hence, we have now sought affidavits from all the members of our society,” said society chairman Rajnikant Patel.“We have already announced to stop procurement for four days. If they continue arm-twisting us, we will have no other option but to stop all procurement activities of the society,” he said.
