Gang fooling people with ‘magical’ stick nabbed

While Soni stays in Kishanadi area of the city, Patel is a resident of Kheda, Herma of Rajkot and Jadhav is a resident of Surendranagar.According to the police, the gang had a curvy stick that they called a magical stick.

Vadodara: The special operations group (SOG) busted a cheating racket and nabbed four persons from the city on Tuesday. The accused used to con people by claiming that they have a magical stick that can fulfil any wish. The police laid a trap and sent a decoy customer to the gang that was in Alkapuri.“We had received tip-off about the gang’s cheating activities following which we sent a decoy customer. When the gang struck a deal with the decoy, SOG sleuths nabbed it,” said H M Chauhan, police inspector, SOG. The accused have been identified as Satish Soni, Jitu Patel, Bharat Herma and Jethi Jadhav. While Soni stays in Kishanadi area of the city, Patel is a resident of Kheda, Herma of Rajkot and Jadhav is a resident of Surendranagar.According to the police, the gang had a curvy stick that they called a magical stick. They used to tell people that the stick if thrown in the river, goes opposite the flow. “They told people that one inch of this stick costs Rs 1.5 crore and it costs Rs 27 crore. The gang used to demand Rs five lakh for seeing demonstration of this stick,” the police said.The cops have also booked Dr Sanjay Patel who supplied this stick to the gang and seized a car along with mobile phones that were used in the crime. The investigators are now trying to find out if this gang has committed any more offences in the past.
