Hate video maker held in Fatehpura

In March, three persons were nabbed by the police for making a video for fanning communal violence after Ram Navmi processions that were marred by violence. He had made the video on the night of Eid when communal riots had broken out near Nyay Mandir.“We had received information of a video fanning communal hatred going viral on Youtube. The video was uploaded on social media websites and it went viral within few hours following which someone alerted the police. The cops immediately swung into action and tracked down the accused identified as Mayur Kadam, a resident of Fatehpura. The video that was communal in nature was then forwarded to a Whatsapp groups.

Vadodara: The cybercrime cell arrested a man who made a provocative video that directed hatred towards a community. The video was uploaded on social media websites and it went viral within few hours following which someone alerted the police. The cops immediately swung into action and tracked down the accused identified as Mayur Kadam, a resident of Fatehpura. He had made the video on the night of Eid when communal riots had broken out near Nyay Mandir.“We had received information of a video fanning communal hatred going viral on Youtube. Uploaded under the name of ‘Dharm Yoddha’, this video showed the procession organized by Rajput Karni Sena in the old city on June 16. Kadam had posted some provocative words about a community on the video that reeked of communalism,” said KG Bhaati, joint police commissioner.“The video had already got 2,500 likes and it could have fanned communal trouble not just in the city but elsewhere too. We tracked down Kadam from the IP address and then nabbed him. He admitted to have made the video as he was disturbed after the communal riots that happened during the procession to celebrate Maharana Pratap’s birth anniversary,” Bhaati added.According to the police, 30-year-old Kadam works on the front desk of a hotel and he alone made the video. Kadam had made several other videos and uploaded on Youtube. The police have booked Kadam under IPC section 25 (A), 153 (A) 1 and the Information Technology Act. He was earlier booked in 2016 in the case related to effigy burning of Zakir Naik. The cops are now trying to ascertain if he kept this video in any Whatsapp groups or sent it to someone.This is the second such case that the cybercrime cell has cracked this year.
