Angadh deputy sarpanch denied bail by sessions court

Gohil’s lawyer argued before the court that the FIR registered by a rape-survivor living in Angadh village does not mention any role of Gohil.However, the police submitted an affidavit opposing his bail. Vadodara: A sessions court here denied bail to Mahendra Gohil, deputy sarpanch of Angadh village, for circulating videos of Dr Pratik Joshi having intimate moments with multiple women in his clinic in the village.Gohil had sought bail from the court before police nabbed Joshi from Mahisagar and registered a case against him and also against six others for abducting and extorting money from him.In his bail plea he had informed the court that he has been wrongly framed in the alleged rape case. Additional public prosecutor B S Purohit argued in the court that Gohil took videos from Joshi’s compounder Dilip Gohil and circulated the videos despite knowing that women from the village are seen in it and circulation of these videos will disgrace them.The court upheld the arguments and turned down Gohil’s bail plea.Gohil is currently in jail after his police custody in the abduction and extortion case ended on Tuesday.
