After first round, 1,458 students get admission in science faculty

VADODARA: After the first round, M S University’s Faculty of Science has admitted 1 ,458 students in first-year Bachelors of Science (BSc).After the first round, there are 75 seats that have remained vacant in open category under regular payment category for local students from Vadodara in subjects like geography, geology and statistics. All the seats for local students in this category in subjects like botany , chemistry, maths, physics and zoology have got filled up.Most of the seats for local students in regular payment category that have remained vacant are in the reserved category.Interestingly, not a single seat in open category is now available for students from other districts of Gujarat while there are only seven seats including six in geography and one in geology that is now available in open category for students from outside Gujarat.Similarly, even the seats reserved for SC and SEBC candidates from districts other than Vadodara have got filled up in the first round.In contrast, there are only two seats available in higher payment category at Padra college in chemistry stream for open category students while there are ten seats each in ST and SEBC category that now remain vacant in this stream.The faculty will be conducting the second round of admissions between July 16 and July 19 after which it will carry out the process of reshuffling.
