Man shoots arrow in son’s eye over property dispute

VADODARA: A man pierced his son’s left eye with an arrow after heated arguments over a property dispute at Vanaar village in Chhota Udepur on Friday evening.Police said that the victim Kindu Rathwa was in the village for 2 days as his father Dejla Rathwa was going to distribute his properties among his sons. Kindu’s brother Raju, told the police that Kindu first hurled stones at his father which enraged Dejla. Kindu does not live with his family in Vanaar after a love marriage outside his community.

Dejla told him that he had lost his share having married outside his community.Following this, the duo indulged in abuses and also got into a scuffle. Kindu’s brother Raju, told the police that Kindu first hurled stones at his father which enraged Dejla. The accused retaliated by shooting his son with an arrow. Kindu’s left eye was pierced resulting in him crying out for help.Police officials said that the commotion attracted the attention of their neighbours who called an ambulance. Kindu was rushed to a private hospital in Chhota Udepur where he is recovering.“The doctors told us that his eye has been badly damaged, however his condition is stable,” said K P Gameti, police inspector, Chhota Udepur police station. He added that the accused is on the run.
