800 stuck in Vadodara Express for over 10 hours

Vasai to Virar also local suspended,” tweeted a passenger Suhas Ambekar.As mobile phone batteries got discharged and mobile network disrupted, relatives of passengers started making distress calls to all concerned.“I had spoken to my father at around 9.30 am and had asked him to remain inside the train. But for nearly five years, he was not answering my calls,” said Ashish Tere, who was waiting for his father Sharad at Borivili station. “I was continuously making inquiries with the railway officials but they too had no clue,” said Tere, who finally got a sigh of relief when his father confirmed that he was rescued by NDRF along with other passengers who were shifted to Nala Sopara station.“Members of NDRF, WR and RPF had reached the train and started providing relief to the passengers in form of food packets and snacks from Andheri ,” said Khemraj Meena, public relations officer of Vadodara railway division.“NDRF team and RPF staff later brought these passengers to Nala Sopara from where buses were arranged to take them to the nearest station,” said Meena.
