Vadodara: Girl students at M S University’s girls hostel will not have to go out in search of food, especially when they are busy preparing for their exams or during late hours in the night.After starting a 24x7 canteen facility at the main boys hostel campus of Halls of Residence, the hostel authorities are mulling over a proposal to start a similar facility at the girls hostel campus now.“We will be moving the proposal before the hostel advisory committee. If cleared, we will start the 24x7 canteen facility at the girls hostel as well,” said Vijay Parmar, chief warden of Halls of Residence, adding that they started the facility last year at the main campus for boys hostel.There are four girls hostel including the Hansa Mehta Hall, Kasturba Gandhi Hall, the Pandita Gargi Hall and the Sarojini Devi Hall.In the recent times, the hostel authorities have taken steps to increase amenities at the Halls of Residence. While four food vending machines have been installed at the girls hostel campus, one such vending machine has also been installed at the Polytechnic campus of boys hostel.“We have also installed sanitary pad vending machines at the girls hostel with support of a NGO so that sanitary pads are easily available to the girl students of our campus,” he said.
