Two more patients test positive for cholera

On Sunday, two more patients tested positive of cholera. Investigation done by the department of microbiology of Government Medical College, Baroda, showed that a 45-year-old man from Macchipith area and a 24-year-old woman from a slum area in Warasiya tested positive of cholera. Vadodara: There is no let down in the number of gastroenteritis cases in the city. The condition of all these patients was said to be stable.Water supply to the area is yet to resume and tankers are being used.tnn The two patients were hospitalised on Saturday.In the last week, cholera cases were reported from Fatehpura, Hathikhana, Nagarwada, Pratapnagar, Ektanagar, Karelibaug and Manjalpur areas of the city.The Vadodara Municipal Corporation on the other hand is still struggling to take care of water contamination in Navapura area of the city from where a majority of gastroenteritis cases have been reported.By Saturday evening, the data shared by the civic body revealed that of the 34 patients who were hospitalised, four were receiving treatment as indoor patients.
