Vadodara NRG elected president of NSW Gujarati samaj

Vadodara: Vadodara-born Non-Resident Gujarati (NRG) Parth Joshi has been elected as president of Gujarati samaj of New South Wales (NSW) in Australia.Sydney-based Joshi, who had got elected both as general secretary and vice-president of M S University Students Union (MSUSU), was recently elected uncontested as president of Gujarati samaj’s NSW chapter that runs since 1991.“There are nearly 45,000 Gujaratis who are members of our chapter in NSW and our efforts will be to make it more strong with a variety of social and cultural programmes,” said Joshi, 41, who resides in Sydney since last 14 years.“From this year, we will be organising senior citizen tours, blood donation camps among others programmes. But more importantly we will be organising kids camp where we can teach our generation next on how to speak and write Gujarati,” said Joshi, who after completing his masters from commerce faculty, had completed his post-graduate diploma in social work and labour laws and later pursued MBA from University of Technology, Sydney.From this year, senior citizen tours, kids camp, we are looking for blood donation camp, start teaching kids about Gujarati more – how to speak and write GujaratiThe new team of office-bearers at Gujarati samaj of NSW includes Vijay Raj as vice-president, Pradip Parmar as secretary, Akshesh Patel as treasurer apart from Prashant Bhalala, Anish Patel, Kiran Desai, Mitesh Patel and Pritesh Dave as committee members.
