The Vishwamitri, which is known to have a good population of crocodiles, flows beside Kalali and SSG Hospital,” said Parmar.Baby croc enters swimming poolVadodara: Tushar Kaswala woke up to surprise call from caretaker of his farmhouse on Saturday morning. The caretaker informed Kaswala that his farmhouse on Chapad-Chansad Road had got an usual guest who was swimming in shallow waters inside the swimming pool of the farmhouse - it was nearly a two foot long baby crocodile. “I was completely surprised to know this. Although Vishwamitri river passes from near Chansad, it is still approximately 3 km away from my farmhouse,” said Kaswala, who got in touch with wildlife volunteers to get the baby crocodile rescued. “Even caretakers of nearby farmhouse were surprised as nobody has ever heard of presence of crocodiles in the area.”Peacock electrocuted, another rescuedVadodara: A peacock was electrocuted by a live wire running through the common plot of a residential society in the Manjalpur area of the city on Friday.“We got a call about a peacock being injured due to an electric shock at Chandan Row Houses in Amin Park Society, Manjalpur. When we reached the spot, it had already died,” said Arvind Pawar, president of Wildlife Rescue Trust.“In another incident, we found a peacock that was wounded by stray dogs at Mahapura village near Sevasi on Friday. We handed the peacock over to the forest department,” he said.
