Steady rainfall in city few areas waterlogged

The rainfall was evenly distributed in the other two zones with north zone registering 2.25inch rainfall and the west zone registering 2.24inch rainfall.Karjan and Dabhoi received 61 and 79 mm rains in the same period. There was no major rise in Vishwamitri river’s level as the rainfall was stead . Vadodara: Barodians woke up to a cool breeze and steady rainfall that began around Thursday midnight as overcast skies for the past many days finally pouring water.As weatherman has predicted heavy to very heavy rains till Saturday night, the district administration in Vadodara is keeping a close tab on the situation.However, normal life remained unaffected as there was no major rainfall during the daytime barring waterlogging in a few areas.The highest rainfall in the city areas was witnessed in the southern parts that recorded nearly 90 mm rainfall followed by the east zone that received nearly 80 mm rainfall. Water level in river Orsang in Dabhoi have swelled in last 24 hours.The Ajwa reservoir whose level had gone down to 206 feet raising concern amongst VMC officials has started increasing again and it was recorded at 207.7 feet on Friday evening.
