Swachh Bharat pakhwada flagged off at Gujarat Refinery

VADODARA: The Indian Oil Gujarat Refinery has joined the biggest mass cleanliness fortnight in the country by responding enthusiastically to the ongoing Swachh Bharat pakhwada being observed from August 16 to August 31 under the Swachh Bharat campaign.The Gujarat Refinery will be taking up various initiatives to make the drive a success. The swachhta pakhwada programme has been drawn to inform and educate the employees and their families, CISF and other stakeholders about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and achieve the cleanliness goals under the action plan.The Swachh Bharat pakhwada was flagged off with the administering of the Swachhta pledge by executive director of Gujarat Refinery Sudhir Kumar to the employees.He appealed the all to collectively work towards realising the goal of Swachh Bharat by inculcating cleanliness in daily lives by dedicating two hours a week to cleanliness which would lead to 100 hours in a year.The Swachh Bharat pledge was also administered in technical building, training centre, control rooms among other places at the refinery.During the fortnight, Gujarat Refinery is organising cleanliness drives in the various office premises and township besides awareness campaign in schools, debate, slogan, poster and quiz, competitions among others to inculcate the message of cleanliness in the most effective and innovative manner.As part of the pakhwada, a tree plantation drive will be also undertaken in the refinery green belt where young employees will be planting trees displaying a sense of environment stewardship.
