Vadodara: Vishal Kataria, a real estate broker living near Sayaji Township, often used to get into arguments with his wife Gunjan Kataria whom he married in 2012. But Vishal had never imagined that altercations between them would turn so serious that he would have to call police control room for help.On September 10, when Vishal returned home from work, Gunjan was making their daughter Nancy do some school work. He noticed that Gunjan was using abusive language in front of the kid and also hitting her. Vishal told Gunjan that using such language would have bad effect on their daughter. But Gunjan got offended and entered into heated arguments with Vishal.The arguments between the couple lead to fight and in a fit of rage, Gunjan got a knife from the kitchen and hurled it at her husband. Vishal’s left wrist was injured in the and he started bleeding profusely. Realizing that the situation was getting out of the hand, he immediately contacted police control room for help.Vishal was taken to Jamnabai Hospital for treatment and later the couple went to Bapod police station along with some elders from their residential building. With intervention of the elders, the couple reached at a settlement and returned home.However, situation turned ugly on Tuesday when Gunjan started demanding money from Vishal. He refused to give her money which again left her fuming. Gunjan then allegedly threatened Vishal that if he did not give her money, she would mix poison in his food to kill him. Vishal was shocked at his wife’s death threat and eventually decided to register a case of assault and criminal intimidation against her.
