Vadodara: A doctor working at a hospital in Adadara village of Kalol taluka near Godhra in Panchmahal district was accused by a woman patient of allegedly molesting her. The doctor, a resident of Godhra, was arrested by the police on Thursday.According to the police, the married woman from Rayankhad village in Halol taluka was molested by the doctor PL Gupta at a hospital in Adadara on Wednesday. The woman had first gone to the doctor on Sunday after her illness was not cured for long time by doctors at her village Rayankhad as well as her parents’ village in Raveri.After a couple of visits, the doctor asked her to come again on Wednesday for administering a drip. When the woman and her mother went to the hospital in the morning, the doctor examined her and asked her to come again later in the day.The woman returned with her mother again in the afternoon and the doctor took her to an examination room. The victim claimed that the doctor made her sleep on a stretcher and drew the curtain to cover the stretcher.The doctor allegedly molested the woman on the stretcher and kissed her, the woman stated in an offence registered with the Vejalpur police station. The woman waited for the drip to get over and informed her mother about the incident on their way home. She later called up her husband and asked him to come and take her. On their way, she informed her husband too.The woman and her family decided to lodge a complaint, but had to wait for Thursday. The doctor was held by the police after the offence was registered.
