Vadodara: Four days after an elderly woman was looted by an unidentified person, the police is still struggling to get his whereabouts. The cops said that they have circulated his images in all the police stations and keeping an eye on some areas to track down the middle-aged man. The man had looted 85-year-old Anjali Khopkar at her residence on September 9.Petrol pumps and garages are under scanner as the cops are expecting that the man may visit one of these places. “We are hoping to track him down soon,” said N H Brahmbhatt, J P Road police inspector. The police have the CCTV images of the accused who is seen approaching Khopkar’s house on a two-wheeler and leaving after a few minutes.The police has also questioned Vijay Vankar who is son of the help hired by Khopkar. Vankar had gone out for a while when the accused approached Khopkar’s house in Green Park Society. Khopkar was alone when the accused knocked at her door under the pretext of inquiring about a bungalow on sale. He later asked for a glass of water. The accused then followed Khopkar into the kitchen and caught hold of her.He snatched her gold jewellery before pushing her away and fleeing from the spot. Khopkar suffered injuries as her head banged against the wall.
