VMC officials said that similar activity had earlier been conducted at schools and other campuses in the city. Notices were issued regarding the tanks as well as the breeding sites too.The civic body also conducted extensive fogging in the hospital campus and also used mosquito larvicidal oil in puddles to take care of the situation. It came to light that the overhead tanks at various places were open and did not have covers.At the construction sites, the teams found that water had accumulated at several places.

VADODARA: The Sir Sayajirao General Hospital (SSGH) that many may look forward for treatment, may actually make you ill due to the mosquitoes there. Teams of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) found mosquito breeding sites at the hospital and issued notices to it on Friday.The anti-larval activity was taken up at the hospital in wake of the ongoing extensive construction activity at the hospital and the civic body receiving information about mosquito breeding in the hospital campus.As per its procedure, teams of the filaria department of the civic body checked the campus both at the ground level and the terraces. It came to light that the overhead tanks at various places were open and did not have covers.At the construction sites, the teams found that water had accumulated at several places.
