VADODARA: A pulse mill owner in Dahod was shot at by a former business aide on Saturday morning. The victim received four gunshot injuries and was rushed to Vadodara for treatment later in the afternoon.Prasannchand Jain (64), the owner of Arihant Industries at Delsar near Dahod that processes lentils, had gone to his factory on Saturday morning. At around 10.05am, a trader Bhupendra Darda came to the unit on his motorcycle and allegedly shot Jain repeatedly. Jain received injuries on his legs, abdomen and the left side of his torso.Those present at the factory informed Jain’s son Narpatraj who rushed to the factory. They told him about Darda coming to the unit and shooting Jain. Thy also told Narpatraj that when some of them tried to intervene, even they were threatened by Darda.CCTV footage of the factory clearly shows Darda coming to the unit and then shooting on Jain. Narpatraj told the police that his father used to procure material from Darda, but stopped doing so after some differences. The footage reveals that Darda had come with the motive of shooting at Jain. He did not talk or have an argument with the victim and is seen walking in and shooting on Jain repeatedly.Dahod SP Hitesh Joysar said that four teams had been formed to trace Darda. He added that it had come to light that the accused and the victim had quarrelled on a couple of occasions in the past too. Other traders had intervened on these occasions and had cooled tempers.
