Government sanctions Rs 24cr for MSU

After the new construction, all the cells which are presently scattered across the campus, will operate from the second floor of the university head office.Presently, offices of different cells are located at different premises of the university campus. With the extension of the head office, the examination section which is presently located on the first floor, will get an entire floor while the accounts section and the record room will be connected on the rear side of the building.The IQAC office will be located on the ground floor. While a couple of cells are located at Chamelibaug, some are located at Faculty of Management Studies while some function from the union pavilion ground.The university officials had last month laid foundation stone for construction of a separate building for Faculty of Pharmacy.Pharmacy which was initially started as department as part of the Faculty of Technology and Engineering was granted status of a faculty in December 2015.“As per the norms of the All India Council for Technical Education, faculties should have their independent infrastructure in place. Hence, we had sought state government’s support for construction of the new building for the faculty,” said Ojha.The university has already placed work orders worth Rs 7.5 crore for construction of the multi-storied building of pharmacy faculty.
