Vadodara: Two groups of student leaders clashed at the gate of the science faculty of MS University (MSU) on Thursday afternoon. The students got into a fight over a DJ playing music on the faculty campus on Tuesday.Students of “Royal Group” and the All India Students Association (AISA) got into arguments on Tuesday when AISA members organized a DJ programme to celebrate the victory of their FGS candidate. The AISA candidate had defeated Royal Group’s candidate in the faculty association polls held last year along with the election for the MSU Students’ Union.Following the arguments, the two groups resorted to violence near the statue of Sardar Patel in Sayajigunj. A couple of students were injured in the brawl. Members of both groups submitted applications of complaint against each other at Sayajigunj police station. Police then called members of both groups on Thursday morning and the groups reached a settlement with the mediation of police.However, the two groups clashed again on Tuesday afternoon, near the faculty gate. Both groups alleged the other had attacked them. Vigilance staff said that since the groups had reached a settlement at the police station, the students were handed over to Sayajigunj police. Police later allowed them to go.
