PM to inaugurate Amul Dairy’s chocolate plant on Sept 30

The milk union has developed 40 new types of chocolates at the plant whic his spread on 1.50 lakh sq foot area and constructed at the cost of Rs 150 crore.Looking at the growing demand of chocolates especially in the premium segment, the dairy union, has increased its manufacturing capacity from 4,000 tonnes per annum to 20,000 tonnes per annum.The completely automatic plant with latest machinery and equipments from Europe to handle material to final product automatically has helped Amul launch a slew of premium and dark chocolates including single country origin chocolate range for which raw material like cocoa powder and cocoa butter is imported from coco producing hubs. Vadodara/ Anand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Amul Dairy’s chocolate plant at the Tribhuvandas Food Factory at Mogar near Anand on September 30.Modi will also launch two new projects including the plant for manufacturing ‘Take Home Ration’ called ‘Balbhog’ and ‘Ready-to-use therapeutic food’ (RUTF) developed by the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (KDCMPUL), popularly known as Amul Dairy.After the inauguration, PM will address a public gathering adjacent to the plant in which nearly 75,000 milk producers and residents of the region are expected to gather.“We have received confirmation that the PM will be inaugurating our chocolate plant and launching the two projects,” Amul Dairy’s chairman Ramsinh Parmar told TOI on Friday, adding that a detailed itinerary of his schedule is awaited.Earlier on Friday, Anand district collector Dilip Rana convened a meeting with officials from the district administration and Amul Dairy to discuss preparations for PM’s visit.It was last year that Amul Dairy had commenced trials of its new chocolate plant which had increased its manufacturing capacity by five times.
