VADODARA: A maulvi was booked for allegedly molesting and threatening an 11-year-old girl at Valan village in Vadodara district The girl’s father, who works as scrap trader in Malegaon in Maharashtra, lodged the complaint against the accused Maulana Mauli Mushtaq at Karjan police station on Friday night in connection with the incident that took place around three months back.According to police, the girl and her sister were admitted to a hostel named ‘Bachon ka Ghar' in Valan for education at a madrasa as their parents are divorced. During her stay at the hostel, the 11-year-old girl was one day called by the maulvi and asked to remove her clothes. The accused then molested her by touching inappropriately.Police said that the girl did not say anything then as the maulvi had threatened to kill her and dump her body in nearby forest. However, recently when she went to Surat to meet her mother, she narrated the trauma that she had suffered. The girl's mother then informed her estranged husband who then rushed to Surat.The parents then approached Limbayat police station in Surat and submitted an application to register case. The application was then transferred to Karjan police station as the crime had taken place in Valan.A police official said that the girl's father has been called to give a detailed statement. “Right now we have primary details, once we get to know more, we can take action against the accused,” said H P Parmar, in-charge inspector, Karjan police station.
