Vadodara: Three youths died in a gruesome road accident involving a bike and three trucks in Karjan on Saturday morning.The three, identified as Viren Lonkhade (24), Jitendra Lonkhade (30) and Pravin Vasava (18), were on their way to work at Karjan when the accident occurred. Viren and Jitendra were siblings and lived at Amod village in Bharuch.According to the police, the trio was passing from Miyagam on a motorcycle when a truck ahead of them applied sudden breaks. Viren, who was riding the motorcycle, too, applied sudden breaks, but a truck driver right behind them could not control his vehicle as it was at a higher speed. The truck driver not only knocked down the trio, but also rammed into the truck which was ahead of the bike. Another truck, which was behind the second truck, too, collided with the three vehicles.Eye-witnesses said the accident was so massive that three bikers received severe injuries and they succumbed within few minutes. Immediately after the accident, the driver of the second truck, which was registered in Madhya Pradesh, fled from the spot. Long queues of vehicles were witnessed for few hours as the accident caused a blockade.Police said that a case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence was registered against the absconding truck driver as he was driving his vehicle at a high speed on a narrow road.Sources said Jitendra was married and have three daughters, while the other two were bachelors.
