Vadodara: Two youngsters were killed and two others were injured in a road accident involving two motorcycles and a truck near Mujpur village in Padra taluka late on Wednesday night.Mayank Kumar Chavda (20) and Prakash Padhiyar (23) died while Dharmesh Padhiyar and Rajendra Padhiyar were severely injured as a truck ran them over. All four are residents of Anklav in Anand district.The truck driver identified as Narendra Laudariya was arrested on Thursday evening. Laudariya was on his way to Morbi carrying powder of tiles.According to police, Chavda, Prakash and Dharmesh had gone to Ranu village in Padra to attend a friend’s wedding on Wednesday evening. They borrowed a friend’s bike to return to their home.Around 10 pm, when they were passing from the river bridge over Mahisagar, Rajendra, who was driving rashly, rammed his bike with the trio’s motorcycle. All four of them fell down due to collision and a truck which was coming right behind ran over them. Police said that the two deceased were crushed under the front wheel of the truck while, Dharmesh and Rajendra received severe multiple injuries.A passer-by called 108 emergency services to rush Dharmesh and Rajendra to GMERS Medical College and Hospital in Gotri. After giving him primary treatment, Dharmesh was referred to SSG Hospital.Later, Dharmesh’s father registered a case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence against the truck driver at Padra police station.
