Vadodara: An unidentified woman’s half-charred body was found near Shekhpur village in Panchmahal on Saturday.Shehra police registered a case of murder against unidentified persons and are trying to identify the woman.According to police, the body was first sighted by two cattle-rearers on Saturday afternoon following which they informed the village sarpanch Chandu Pagi. Later the cops were informed about it. Police said that the body was lying on the side of a road on the outskirts of the village which is mostly a forest area.“The body below the abdomen except a leg, its face and back were completely burnt so it is difficult to know the identity of the person,” the police said.It was only because of the nail paint marks, cops could ascertain that it was a female. “It is possible that somebody must have poured an inflammable substance and set it on fire, but it is too early to confirm it. We are waiting for scientific evidence,” said sub-inspector R R Desai, of Shehra police station. He added that the body must have been burnt in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.Meanwhile, cops are also trying to trace down the relatives of the woman.
