Two shops gutted in fire on Ajabdi Mill Road

Vadodara: Fire broke out in two cotton weaving shops on the Ajabdi Mill Road on Friday morning. The incident occurred near the gate of the mill where many such cotton weaving shops are located. It took us two and half hours to control the fire as a big stock of cotton was on fire,” Jadeja said. Fire officials said that no one was injured in the incident but both the shops were completely gutted in fire.Fire officer, Om Jadeja said that they received a call at 11.45 am about the fire. The incident caused panic in the area for a while due dense smoke,” he added.

It took us two and half hours to control the fire as a big stock of cotton was on fire,” Jadeja said. When asked the cause of fire, Jadeja said that prima facie it seems that a cotton weaving machine heated up and led to fire in the cotton stock and readymade beds.“The shop owners said that they suffered losses of Rs two lakh. The incident caused panic in the area for a while due dense smoke,” he added.
