Five die during Uttarayan

Vadodara: Uttarayan festivities turned fatal for five persons including three children in Vadodara city and Panchmahal district. Four-year-old Hetvi Kahar died as her throat got slit with the thread near Sangam crossroads on Tuesday afternoon. In another incident reported on Tuesday, Jayesh Pateliya was injured when he was returning home from Shehra. Kahar was returning home with her parents from Adaniya Pul on scooter when she met with her fate. Pandav’s mother Lalita who rushed to save the boy was also injured in the accident.

Vadodara: Uttarayan festivities turned fatal for five persons including three children in Vadodara city and Panchmahal district. Several other persons were also injured due to deadly glass coated kite threads.The first incident took place near Chhani Jakat Naka on Monday afternoon when Rohit Mishra, a resident of Sama, was passing on his bike. Mishra’s throat was slit due to the kite thread resulting in his death on the spot.On Tuesday morning, seven-year-old Vanraj Pandav was mowed down by Shatabdi Express near Manjalpur when he ran on tracks to catch a kite. Pandav’s mother Lalita who rushed to save the boy was also injured in the accident. She was admitted to a private hospital near Somatalav. Four-year-old Hetvi Kahar died as her throat got slit with the thread near Sangam crossroads on Tuesday afternoon. Kahar was returning home with her parents from Adaniya Pul on scooter when she met with her fate. In Panchmahal, Naresh Bariya (4) died in similar way on Monday when he and his father Ramesh were commuting on their bike Shehra taluka. In another incident reported on Tuesday, Jayesh Pateliya was injured when he was returning home from Shehra. Pateliya was rushed to civil hospital in Godhra where he succumbed.tnn
