Vadodara: Beating a dog mercilessly had landed a youth living near Ajwa Road in trouble. The incident had come to light after a video of the incident went viral on the social media.Animal welfare activist Mayank Salunke, a resident of Wadi area, registered an offence at the Bapod police station after he saw a video regarding the incident on a social media platform used to share photographs and videos.Salunke has stated in the offence that the video was posted on February 13. He added that he came to know that the incident had taken place on February 12. Searching for more information, Salunke came to know that the incident had happened in Chamundanagar locality on Ajwa Road.According to the offence, he and other animal lovers were engaged in the activity of feeding dogs in the city. Through the information received through such persons, he came to know that a youth nicknamed Kabo was responsible for the thrashing the dog. The activists traced his house and other details and even took the dog.As a result of brutal thrashing by the accused, the dog had suffered fracture one of its front legs. Salunke has claimed that the dog had lost the leg forever. The residents of the locality used to take care of the dog, but could do little in front of Kabo’s fury.Investigations revealed that the accused’s real name was Jayesh Rajput. He was arrested by the police.
