Vadodara: The Mahisagar local crime branch (DCB) has busted a robbers gang and arrested two persons from Nurpur Crossroads in the district. The accused duo has admitted to have been involved in nearly 26 crimes in different cities of the state.LCB sleuths said that they have begun hunt for the other gang members who were involved in the crimes.According to the police, it had received information that members of the gang that had robbed Ganga Patel, a 76-year-old woman in Vardhari village of Mahisagar, were travelling in a four-wheeler on Sunday. The cops kept an eye on the Nurpur Crossroads and intercepted the vehicle. Two persons identified as Magan Dangi and Dinesh, Munia, both residents of Dahod.The duo told the police that their gang had planned to commit another robbery in Dahod but the plan didn’t work out. When questioned, the accused admitted to have committed robberies in Mahisagar, Kheda, Surat, Rajkot, Anand, Vadodara, Morbi, Thangadh, Surendranagar, Modasa, Narmada and Panchmahals district.The gang of about 13 persons used to plan the robberies in advance. They used to assemble at a pre-decided place and then target their victims late in the night. The duo told the police that they have also committed loots, threatened and attacked people. “The gang has also tried to break in ATMs to steal the cash, the police said.Hunt has been initiated for the other gang members including their leader Umesh who plans all the crimes.
