GACLGCSRA awards event to be held on February 21

“Over a period of time, we also want to promote district-level CSR awards so as to encourage and give a platform to district level NGOs and organisations to showcase their work. Of the 31 companies, 27 companies who have participated in the evaluation process are large firms while four others are small and medium companies.Since last year, GACL has decided to support GCSRA in holding the annual state level CSR awards for a period of four years. In their own ways, there are many organisations who are bringing about a change in a variety of fields,” said GACL’s managing director P K Gera.The state level CSR awards are conferred in two categories including sustainable and impactful CSR project and cohesive and strategic partnership project. Videos of shortlisted projects are presented before the jury and is followed by question and answer session after which the award winners under different categories are finalised. Vadodara: State-supported Gujarat CSR Authority (GCSRA) in partnership with the Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) will host state-level corporate social responsibility (CSR) award function on February 21 and February 22 at AMA, Ahmedabad.The organisers have received a total of 36 applications from 31 companies for this year’s CSR awards. Of the 31 companies, 27 companies who have participated in the evaluation process are large firms while four others are small and medium companies.Since last year, GACL has decided to support GCSRA in holding the annual state level CSR awards for a period of four years. “Over a period of time, we also want to promote district-level CSR awards so as to encourage and give a platform to district level NGOs and organisations to showcase their work. The organisers have received 30 entries in the category of sustainable and impactful CSR project category while six others are in the category of cohesive and strategic partnership project.After the applications are invited, the selection process leading to the final awards is rigorous as it starts with scrutiny of applications and is followed with field visits of shortlisted projects.The selection committee and jury members which comprises of reputed individuals from development field and senior IAS officers invite the companies for presentations. Videos of shortlisted projects are presented before the jury and is followed by question and answer session after which the award winners under different categories are finalised.
