Vadodara: Dr Yashesh Dalal, who is accused in a rape case, was remanded to seven days police custody by a local court on Tuesday. Dalal was nabbed from Mumbai on Monday and brought to the city late in the night. Cops had sought his remand to gather more details about the case and interrogate him. Dalal has also been accused of circulating the rape survivor’s obscene photos on social media.“Dalal had written an email to the woman wherein he had offered her to keep relations with him despite the fact that she was married. He had written that she can continue with her marriage and keep extramarital affair with him,” said Jaydeepsinh Jadeja, DCP (crime). Dalal has been accused of pressurizing the woman for keeping relations with him. The police said that he had threatened her to make her obscene photos viral if she didn’t co-operate.“Dalal had promised to marry her when she was single. She had told him that either he should marry her or leave her but Dalal wasn’t ready to discontinue the relationship. He also reportedly circulated her phone number among his friends,” Jadeja told TOI. The police have already conducted Dalal’s medical tests and now he will be questioned.The rape survivor, who had completed Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2007 and came in contact with Dalal in 2013. Dalal offered her a job at his hospital. The woman, who is a divorcee, said in her complaint that the accused built close relations with her and in 2014 he called her in his cabin. The accused tried to get into physical relations with her and later threatened to finish her career if she mentioned about it to anyone.
