Vadodara: Realty firm associates booked for cheating partner of Rs 6 crore

VADODARA: Partners of a realty group Shri Sai Realty have been booked by the Bapod police for cheating one of the firm’s partners. In 2018, Desai learnt that his sister Shilpa’s name has been removed from partnership in Shri Sai Realty when the firm filed its I-T returns. A complaint has been filed against Maulik, Vandan, Purvi and Yogini Patel. In 2014, Desai learnt that Maulik and Vandan had sold off 17 flats to their friends and sought permission for loan of Rs 1.66 crore. When Desai approached the accused, he refused to give any account details and instead threatened the complainant.

VADODARA: Partners of a realty group Shri Sai Realty have been booked by the Bapod police for cheating one of the firm’s partners. Pragnesh Desai, a resident of Alkapuri , told the police that the accused duped his sister Shilpa of Rs 5.78 crore and even threatened to harm him.According to Desai, Shilpa, who stays abroad, came to the city in 2012 when one of the accused Maulik Patel showed her land in Sayajipura. Desai said that he knew Maulik through a common friend. Maulik told Shilpa that he planned to construct a building on the land and offered her 20% partnership in the project.Shilpa paid Rs 50 lakh to Maulik on two separate occasions in April 2012 following which a partnership deed was signed between Maulik, Shipla, Purvi Patel , Vandan Patel and Ravi Gotawala. The accused then floated Om Sai Residency project in June 2012 and also got bookings of 89 flats on the very first day. Desai said in his complaint that when he asked for accounts, Maulik didn’t give satisfactory replies.In September 2013, Maulik and Vandan again approached Desai and sought financial help of Rs 65 lakh. Desai transferred them the money online. In 2014, Desai learnt that Maulik and Vandan had sold off 17 flats to their friends and sought permission for loan of Rs 1.66 crore. But the complainant refused to give permission for the loan.Desai said that the accused kept doing several dealings in the project by keeping him in dark. In 2018, Desai learnt that his sister Shilpa’s name has been removed from partnership in Shri Sai Realty when the firm filed its I-T returns. When Desai approached the accused, he refused to give any account details and instead threatened the complainant. A complaint has been filed against Maulik, Vandan, Purvi and Yogini Patel.
