Vadodara: A class XII student was arrested on Saturday for molesting a 15-year-old girl in Karjan.The accused Nehanshu Patanwadiya (19) was booked on Friday after the victim, harassed by repeated incidents, approached Karjan police station with her complaint.According to the girl’s complaint, Patanwadiya sexually harassed on three different occasions. On February 21 when the girl was taking bath in a bathroom in her home’s backyard, Patanwadiya walked inside her house and started throwing stones inside the bathroom. She ignored the incident then.The second incident took place on March 19 when she was returning home after finishing her class X board exam. She told police that Patanwadiya followed her and her friend and on reaching the pond of their village, he held her hand and dragged her little away. The accused started touching her inappropriately and made sexual demands. The victim managed to run away from there and did not tell anyone.But on March 21, when Patanwadiya wrote the girl’s and his names on a car parked near her house and drew some figures, the girl informed her parents about the past incidents and later a complaint was given to the police. “The accused wanted to have a relationship with the girl and was also demanding sexual favours, but the girl was ignoring him. We have booked him for sexual harassment, stalking and different sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” said a police official.
