Vadodara Municipal Corporation razes structures in Akota, around airport

VADODARA: After being issued notices by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), several of the 150 properties on the Dinesh Mill-Akota road began razing their portions that fall in the road line. "A three-meter space from the compound wall of the airport has to be left vacant. The civic body also removed encroachments around the airport on the New VIP Road on Monday.This was done after the Airports Authority of India had highlighted the issue in a recent meeting. The VMC has offered help to those who find it difficult to raze their structures. We ensured that this was done during the drive, " said a VMC official.

VADODARA: After being issued notices by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), several of the 150 properties on the Dinesh Mill-Akota road began razing their portions that fall in the road line. The VMC had recently conducted a survey for widening of the road.VMC officials said that around 65 of the 150 buildings on the stretch were residential while the remaining were commercial establishments. The VMC has offered help to those who find it difficult to raze their structures. The civic body also removed encroachments around the airport on the New VIP Road on Monday.This was done after the Airports Authority of India had highlighted the issue in a recent meeting. "A three-meter space from the compound wall of the airport has to be left vacant. We ensured that this was done during the drive, " said a VMC official.
